4.6 Million, 4th in the time slot but 300,000 away from tying with Supernanny in 2nd.

Best ratings for NBC in that timeslot (normally held by Lipstick Jungle) in both the demo and general, for the last few weeks/months.

Not awesome, but nothing to frown at either.*

*that being said, we were creamed by Flashpoint which makes me a very conflicted girl as Flashpoint is a Canadian Co-Production and means big things for my home industry.

Fun Facts:

Peter Berg - Unoriginal with character names. Or is foreshadowing that Lyla Garrity is going to be a doctor.

DirecTV wants to have Peter Berg's babies, no---literally:

Like Friday Night Lights before it, DirecTV is bringing back Wonderland, another broadcast network series critically acclaimed but viewer challenged (and also executive produced by Peter Berg).

The satellite TV operator will show all eight episodes of Wonderland on its special channel, The 101 Network, and on DirecTV on Demand, beginning Jan. 14 at 10 p.m. Only two episodes ran on ABC in the spring of 2000 before the network pulled the plug. DirecTV says it will air in HD and without commercials.

The gritty series concerned the the doctors and patients at a fictional New York psychiatric hospital called Rivervue. The dark and violent series was reviled by many psychiatrists for showing an extreme example of mentally ill patients. (The first episode featured a madman who shot several people in Times Square and then tried to kill himself.)

Critics generally gave it high praise. The first episode attracted 13 million viewers, but a week later, the audience for Wonderland was only 7.5 million and ABC stopped airing it.

All the episodes will run Wednesdays at 10 p.m. ET and begins following the Season Three finale of Friday Night Lights, the series that is uniquely "sharing" itself with NBC where it originally aired. Friday Night Lights makes its season debut on NBC two nights later, on Jan. 16.

Okay, I made no bones about not LOVING Smash's character all the way throughout. He had his moments, he ushered in great storylines but I never loved him. Loved his mama, but never him.

After last night's episode,

p.s. I totally know what they're doing with Jason's character. Obvious preview is obvious.

Also, "Friday Night Lights" will do a live phone-in chat with the stars each week when it premieres on DirecTV in the fall. By the way, "FNL" will have 2 versions going for it next season. One will be ready for broadcast while the other will have a looser format -- perhaps running longer than an hour -- when it is on DirecTV.

Hell. Yes. x2

I need to look into getting DirectTV in Toronto. Don't tell me it's not possible because I will cry like a baby. Today is not the day to be telling me bad things.

Friday Night Lights is renewed!! Whee! Look for a premiere in its usual Friday at 9 p.m. slot this winter, right after the real football season ends. - From Kristin!

Also. I have to wait until WINTER! THEY THINK I CAN LAST?

MEAN!
(but they're back! YAY!)

EDIT: OH I SEEEEEEEEEEEEE. DIRECTV would have exclusive rights to the season's 13 new episodes beginning Wednesday, October 1 on DIRECTV's entertainment channel "The 101."

Excuse me, I have to go figure out if my Grandparents really have DIRECTV or if I have imagined this is a fit of hopefulness and then figure out if there's a way to upload it.

In other news. The internet is for Jason pron? Let's hope for....otherways of getting it? I've always relied on the kindness of strangers?

Just to prove that the whole cast of FNL was creatively avoiding the truth at Paley and I was right, [livejournal.com profile] ellie_bellie, here is it from Coach himself:

In Which Kyle Chandler says what everyone else did kinda say except without actually saying it at Paley...

Also, 2 to 3 weeks from Katim's declaration of when the news "should" arrive is the NBC Fall Release press conference. In fact all that was missing from this whole song and dance was Scott holding a sign up behind his head that read: NBC WON'T LET US TELL YOU IT'S A GO! in alternating and sparkly blues and yellows.

(actually, more awesome would have been the news on a self printed t-shirt in like...latin...)

EDIT: The official Extras Myspace has also joined the party of people who can't officially say they're going to be back but will tell everyone that August is an important date for out of work actors to keep in mind *wink, wink, nudge, nudge*.

Exclusive: NBC Picking Up 'Friday Night Lights' after partnering with DirectTV

Now, what's this person's track record and can I stop holding my breath?

Also, how ominous is it that FNL 1.08 (Homecoming) is on Global!TV right now and that my prof from last year who I wrote the FNL paper for (Nadler, for those of you playing at home) came up to me today in the hall and teased "Hey! Did you know FNL was cancelled...no, I'm kidding."

EDIT: Breaking news. Ausiello rebukes with a NOT YET HOLD YOUR HORSES AND YOUR BREATH DEALS ARE A FOOT

DEAR SHOW! YOU CANNOT DO THIS TOO ME! DO YOU HEAR!? YOU CANNOT HAVE "I love you like a brother, six." and MAYBE S3 in the same breath. IT IS BAD!

EDIT 2: I GIVE UP. JUST GO READ THE WIKI BECAUSE I CAN'T CROSS POST I'm TOO TIRED AND EMOTIONALLY A WRECK!!! Updated as soon as the news feeds pop up.

IT'S THAT TIME OF YEAR AGAIN!

That's right. It's all those polls that are titled Save Our Show.

And we all know what I want you to do.

So here's the link. Remember, Baby Street (not Baby Taylor) will cry for every vote not made. And as a result I will cry. And from that I will make everyone's life unhappy while I search for a new fandom.

So, really, it's just easier on everyone if y'all just click the link.

So I have to say, I'm loving the theory that FNL will become the village bicycle of the TV industry.

I personally think it would be best on E!/Comcast or CW but that's just my personal opinion. I think anything too male centric won't work, but a E!/CW/USA Network/NBC split sounds perfect. Eventually everyone will be forced to watch it or turn of their TVs. And we all know the latter won't ever happen.

It's also a really interesting concept to study...but...yes....that's me.

And, the insane amount of mini footballs have given me a great idea for a Laundry List challenge. Look for that on Friday Febuary 29th...ish.....
